Audience: This full Initial Provider course is designed for healthcare professionals (MDs, RNs, NPs, PAs, Paramedics) who are either first-time ACLS students or those whose previous certification has expired.

The 2025 ACLS Provider Manual is required for this course. You may purchase the textbook during the registration process at a discounted rate.
AHA guidelines strictly prohibit the sharing or renting of textbooks during the course.
*BLS card is not required if you are renewing BLS on the same day.
ACLS Initial Hours: 10.5 contact hours are awarded upon successful completion of this comprehensive program.

Full Initial Course Duration: Approximately 10 hours of in-person instruction, typically conducted over one full day or two sessions.
This comprehensive session covers all foundational ACLS algorithms and skills in depth.
Q: Is there a pre-test requirement?
A: Yes. All students must complete the AHA Pre-course Self-Assessment and achieve a score of 70% or higher. Print your results and bring them to class.
Q: Do I need to watch videos before class?
A: Yes. Completion of all mandatory pre-course videos on the AHA website is required for admission to both Renewal and Initial courses.

This pocket-sized reference tool, highly-popular among healthcare professionals, provides convenient, quick access to the latest resuscitation science and treatment information. The handbook is organized by basic, advanced adult and pediatric life support, and newborn resuscitation. It provides algorithms, protocols, sequences, drug dosages, and much more.
The Handbook of ECC is often included on hospital crash carts and accessed frequently in the field by EMS and other first responders.
Required AHA textbook
The AHA has updated its programs to the new 2025 guidelines. Therefore, each student attending one of their programs MUST order an up-to-date (2025) textbook. The AHA does not permit the loaning of textbooks. Please note that these are the AHA rules/policies, and as one of their training entities, we're required to follow their policies to continue offering their programs. In short, it is required that you have your own copy of the course textbook (the textbook cannot be loaned or rented from anyone), and you must bring the textbook with you to the course.
If you're having a textbook shipped to you, it will take up to 21 days for the book to be delivered, unless you select express delivery. Please consider this timeframe while waiting for your textbook; an eBook can be ordered and will have faster delivery.
