About: Filmmaker Jason van Genderen is obsessed with making home videos about his family and their Dutch matriarch, Oma. He and his wife Megan embrace caring for Oma's dementia in increasingly whimsical ways and accidentally turned her into an online celebrity. Oma's journey went viral during the pandemic and has received many accolades and awards. This is both a heart-warming and heart-wrenching story captured on film. If you have ever cared for a patient with dementia, you will know that this condition impacts all concerned. This documentary captures many moments of how the van Genderen family loved and cared for their Oma. It also brings awareness to the community as to the day-to-day struggles that one endures when caring for dementia patients.
